Big Bass Bonanza

Big Bass Bonanza is one of those games I expected to bounce off in five minutes and ended up playing on the bus for a week. The core is simple: you cast, watch the water, and tap to reel in when the fish bites. What makes it stick is the timing rhythm, which gets faster and trickier the deeper you fish.

Controls are all one thumb. There's a nice little tension in holding steady versus tapping too early, and the animation of the bass breaking the surface never really got old for me. It's the kind of thing you dip into for a few minutes rather than a marathon session, and that's fine.

The presentation leans cheerful and cartoonish, with bright water effects and a bouncy soundtrack you'll probably mute after a while. If you want a low-stress game to fill small gaps in the day, Big Bass Bonanza does exactly that without asking much of you.
